Rashidi Bissiriou: Gloire Immortelle

David Hill and Carrie Scott are proud to present Gloire Immortelle, the debut solo exhibition of Beninese portrait photographer Rachidi Bissiriou. The show covers two decades work, from the late 1960s, when his Studio Plaisir (Studio Pleasure) was established, to the late 1980s.

In 1968, the West African photographer Rachidi Bissiriou set up his photographic studio, Studio Plaisir, in his hometown of Kétou in Benin, which he operated until its closure in 2004. The timing of this was conspicuous – Bissiriou was only 18 and
