‘No Thanks / Thanksgiving’ was a performance piece conceived of by Matthew Day Jackson and Carrie Scott. The antithesis to the traditional American celebration and an immersive evening filled with performance, food, drink, and gratitude, the evening was punctuated with interactive experiences by artists and collaborators, including Tom Morton, Charles Avery, DJ Paul Owen, Heather Phillipson, Laura Seymour, Anj Smith, Walter & Zoniel, Yonder, Doug Fishbone, and Somerset Cider Brandy. Jackson also worked with the team at Roth Bar & Grill to devise a delicious three course feast that championed local Somerset producers and paid tribute to the ingredients’ international origins.
Guests took home artist objects created especially for the night, including a ceramic grappa cup by Laura Seymour and a placemat by Anj Smith.
